Before application:

If natural precipitation occurs, shake the bottle well to evenly distribute the product in the container and wait 1 minute; then slowly unscrew the cap to release the accumulated gas.

Application of multiple coats is not necessary and may result in additional product consumption. A maximum of 2 coats will be more than enough to cover any missed areas during the first coat. The Können Graphen coating is designed to have maximum repellency, and the extra layers (>2) will repel and have no effective grip and as a result will not increase durability or protection.

Do not use other protective compounds, sealants, waxes, sprays before and after coating, as this will affect the performance and adhesion of the coating!

Application process:

4. Apply the composition to a surface no larger than 1 x 1 m in circular motion and cross hatching for uniform coverage.
5. The applied product should look like a flowing liquid adhesive.
6. The color will become slightly washed out or "cloudy" after 15-20 seconds.
7. Using another clean and dry MF Towel, quickly buff away any residue, cloudiness, blemishes and smears in a circular motion.
8. Starting at the edges of the applied area, wipe off excess with a clean, dry microfiber (MF) towel.
9. Check the treated surface for remaining unpolished spots, uneven color tones, streaks. if these problems do not occur, go to step 13.
10. Solve the problems mentioned above by applying more product to the defective areas to dissolve and polish the applied coating (within the first 30-40 minutes after application).
11. In addition, during the first 15 minutes, a damp microfiber can be used to buff out the defective areas. Once corrected, quickly and thoroughly sand the area with a dry MF towel until problems are resolved.
12. Make sure the surface is clean and smooth.

Solvent incompatibility: N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP), tetrahydrofuran (THF), chloroform, ether (use of products containing these solvents causes swelling, gelation during application).

Products containing solvents such as: acetone, 1-propanol, methanol, water, 2-propanol (IPA) in small quantities can be used without significant effect.

Recommended care (after full curing):

- Every 1-2 weeks: washing should be done with a neutral pH shampoo.

- Every 1-2 months (user preference): washing can be done with an alkaline shampoo no more than pH 12 for deep cleansing and removal of oil stains and road film. Oil and dirt remaining in the pores or on the surface will affect the water repellency.

- Every 2-4 months: maintenance of the coating with water-soluble detailer sprays.

- Every 4-6 months: remove stubborn stains using clay sticks or a high quality cloth. This is important to maintain the smoothness of the machined surface. A rough surface will affect the hydrophobic properties.
- After 1 year: reapply a repair coat if the original water repellency or smoothness has deteriorated.

7. Using another clean and dry MF towel, carefully sand the entire area in a circular motion.
8. Make sure the surface is clean and smooth.
9. Repeat all previous manipulations for the remaining sections.
10. Be especially careful at the edges where machined and unfinished surfaces meet. Always apply and polish the edges of the application area with extreme care to ensure that adjacent areas blend smoothly.

- It is recommended to have sufficient lighting for better visibility of both top and side surfaces. A combination of warm (<3000K) and cold (>4000K) lighting will help you apply the product correctly.

- Provide adequate ventilation to avoid inhalation of vapours.

- Ensure there are no open flames, lit cigarettes, stoves or heating devices (soldering torches, heat guns, etc.)

Do not apply the product in direct sunlight or on a hot surface!

- Optimum surface temperature < 25 °C (77 °F).
- Optimum ambient temperature < 32 °C (90 °F).

In case of natural precipitation, shake the bottle well to mix the product evenly. Wait 1 minute before slowly unscrewing the cap to release any buildup of gas.

Multiple application of layers is not necessary and may result in overuse of the product. A maximum of 2 coats will be more than enough to cover any missed areas during the first application. The coating is designed to be highly repellent, so the extra layers will not have effective grip and will not add durability or protection.

Do not apply other coatings, sealants, waxes or spray detailers before or after applying Können Rad, as this may adversely affect the durability of the coating as well as its protective properties!

Application process:

1. Before applying, carry out all necessary surface preparation of rims: compounding, polishing, claying, degreasing and cleaning. Use panel wipes, isopropyl alcohol (IPA), silicone oil removers and polishes.
2. Apply 6-8 drops of the product, moving the neck of the bottle in a straight line back and forth, onto any suede applicator, or onto an applicator with a microfiber cloth, or onto a small MF towel. Use short-haired small MF towels, which are better suited for hard-to-reach areas.
3. For even coverage, apply the composition to a surface no larger than half the size of the wheel, in circular and transverse movements.
4. The treated area should appear evenly covered, with no gaps or drips.
5. After 15-20 seconds, the coated surface will become slightly dull. At this point, you can touch the surface with microfiber, and if you feel a slight sticking, then you need to start polishing.
6. Starting at the edges of the applied area, wipe off excess compound with a clean, dry microfiber (MF) towel. The feeling of the towel sticking slightly is normal for this step.
7. Using another clean and dry MF towel, carefully sand the entire treated surface in circular and longitudinal-transverse movements.
8. Check for remaining unpolished spots, smears, uneven color tones and streaks. If these issues are not found, go to step 10.
9. The problems mentioned above can be solved by applying an additional amount of compound to the defective areas in order to dissolve and polish the coating on the problematic area. In addition, during the first 15 minutes after application, a method for removing defects with a wet MF towel is possible. Then, immediately buff the area with a dry MF towel.
10. Make sure the surface is shiny and smooth.
11. Repeat all previous steps for the remaining section of the rim. Be especially careful where treated and untreated areas meet. Always polish the edges especially carefully to ensure a smooth blend between adjacent areas.

Any problems with the coating can be solved using the above methods within the first 15 minutes after application, while the coating has begun to cure. In extreme cases, within 1 hour after application, the problem area can be removed with any panel wipes and isopropylene. After 24 hours, any problems can only be solved by removing the coating and reapplying.

Drying of the coating before initial curing: 2 hours with infrared drying (+40-50 °C / 104-122 °F on the surface), or 5 hours without it (in a dry, warm room).

Full cure: 7 days in warm/humid climates or 14 days in temperate/dry climates.

Until fully cured:

- Avoid surface contact with aggressive substances (bird droppings, plant sap, insect spray, cleaning products, shampoos, etc.)
- If these substances come into contact, wipe them gently with a damp towel or soft cloth using clean water.
If the stain has dried, place a slightly damp towel or tissue over the stain to soften it before gently wiping it off.
- Exposure to rainwater will not affect the curing process. However, make sure that rainwater is not on the surface for long periods of time by drying it with a towel when the weather permits.
- Any corrosive substances or rain water that has been on the treated surface for a long time, when exposed to sunlight and heat, can cause stains and marks on the coating that has not yet hardened.
- The bodywork can be cleaned with a damp MF towel using clean water. Then gently wipe and dry the body surface.

The appearance of the coating after curing: optically transparent, slight darkening of color tones and increased reflectivity.

Products containing solvents such as acetone, 1-propanol, methanol, water, 2-propanol (IPA) in small amounts can be used without significant impact.

Recommended care (after full curing):

- Every 1-2 weeks: washing with pH-neutral shampoo.
- Every 1-2 months: washing with an alkaline shampoo with a pH of no more than 12 for deep cleansing and removal of oily road film. Oil that gets into the pores or on the surface of the paintwork will affect the water-repellent properties of the coating.
- Every 2-4 months: application of water-soluble spray paint refreshers to prolong the life of the coating.

- Every 4-6 months: remove embedded dirt with thin clay bars or cloth. This is important to keep the surface smooth. A rough surface will affect the water repellency.

Do not apply any other coatings, waxes or sealants as additional or top coats without consulting a Können representative as this may adversely affect the performance of the coating.
